Hello there,

I'm planning a trip to the Netherlands and I'd love to know where to find some old bikes. Not looking for something too special, no gems, just steel road bikes from the 70s and 80s, stuff like HLE Peugeots in fair condition and sizes from 52 up to 56.

Any info about shops (preferably) markets, or any tips would be much appreciated.

The best tip you'll get: go to www.marktplaats.nl and click on the category "Fietsen en Brommers" and after that "Racefietsen" or "Oldtimers" (in order of appearance). The dutch word for steel is "staal". Searching for "Stalen racefiets" gives some interesting bikes, amongst others the Dutch brand Batavus. Searching for "Reynolds" is interesting too, for some high quality steel frames.
