Hi,
I'm currently in the process of getting an old Gazelle No 1 back on the roads. The frame is made in the mid of the 50s and is having the bigger Thompson bottom bracket from the bakkerfiets (45mm diameter).
I believe that I'm missing a dustcover to close the bottom bracket. I'm having one which fits nicely to the cone. It is hold in place by the counter nut. I think I need the same part again, to protect the other side from dust. Does anybody understand what I mean? You can see a picture here:

Am I missing the part, or is it normal for the drive side to have the bottom bracket slightly open? I'm having the braze inlays for bearing shell, but a tiny gap stays open.
Thanks!

Re: Gazelle No 1, bottom bracket dust cover
Hi,
As far as I know, the other end of the bracket is supposed to be protected by the chaincase, as can be seen on the picture. I think originally there is no dust cover at that side.
