1950's Burco Transport Bike
Hello, my name is Vic and I am seeking information or leads regarding a Burco transport bicycle I am restoring. It is from the mid 1950's best as I can tell, serial number B61626. I am seeking confirmation of the year and wish to purchase a rear fender (or fender set) as close to original as possible. I would greatly appreciate any assistance. Thank you. How this bike made it to the States, I have no idea.

Re: 1950's Burco Transport Bike
Hello, as far as i can see this isn't an old bike and certainly not a transportation bike. At best it is an old frame build up with all modern parts.
Best regards sven

Hi Vic, You can try this webpage. http://www.rijwiel.net/dbase_n.htm It's in Dutch, hope google will translate it good enough so you can understand.
This one is from the same website http://www.rijwiel.net/burcon.htm. Here you can find some information about Burco history.
Any more questions? Let me know.
Later, Nick

Re: 1950's Burco Transport Bike
I think the standing rear fork (whats it called...what you attach the luggage rack to )betrays this as a post 70s,it is the style with a welded on plate for the rear carrier, and the thinner tubes
,probably newer bike. In holland it might be a throwaway bike ,useful to go the trainstation because there are so many other bikes to be had. But your situation might be different, if there arent any quality utiliy bikes available it would make a durable and practical bike. Good luck and veel plezier.
