Maarten, You are a GEM. wow. thankyou for sharing the drawings. maybe I could make a DXF file or such, so that it is possible to get the pieces laser or plasma cut? the machined parts are easy, maybe a job for tomorrow..
many many thanks.

Hi Emma,
It might be good to make a paper ore cardboard one first to see if all measurements are correct.
Good idea to let them laser cut!!
Greetings Maarten

Re: Gazelle decals 1931
Looks good Emma!
Good skils and fine machine.
What I did not report in a good manner in the drawing is that the bush is going trough the hinge (like you made it) but then comes out on the front side were it is machine-hammered back to fix it permanent to the hinge. Therefore it must be a mm longer than the thikness of the hinge and when hammered it still comes out about half a mm.

Nice job Emma!
Is it grey?
Will you nickle or chrome it again?

Re: Gazelle decals 1931
if cranks and handlebars on your Gazelle are chrome or nickle, the hub was chrome or nickled originally. Only if you have the all wheather model, hub was black.
I think I read somewhere that Sturmey Srcher chromed all hubs after 1929 or 1930.

Re: Gazelle decals 1931
today has been a messing about day. been cleaning up the frame and paintwork, and trying to see whats left of the original paint. (the answer is "not much" lol) sadly Australian weather tends to make bikes rusty.
I was looking at the bottom bracket, it has press in cups each side, and some kind of sleeve between. one side of the flange has worn away and it has a sharp ragged edge that I don't like very much. can someone explain how this might come apart, or if I should leave it alone and not worry about the wear?
