Could anyone please relate the frame number and the year when this frame was built.?

I received this frame around 1989 (in Aachen)
Frame, fork and steering-bearings are original.

I have built it up to rideable condition (using available parts, not at all original)
and have used it myself during summer 1991 (on my way to work)
Ever since, it has been disassembled and in dry storage

This will eventually be offered for sale – and will be @ reasonable price –
pickup in Übach (D) (just across from Landgraaf) will also be possible (..after corona, of course).

but first would like to determine the age....

Hi,
By Locomotief the first numeral of the frame number refers to the last numeral of the year of production, so 9xxxxx could be 1939,1949,1959. If you have a complete bike you can normally determine the correct decade.

I forgot to say that Locomotief changed from a transfer on the head tube to a plate about 1951.

Het crankstel is in elk geval van eeuwen later
Als ik door mijn wimpers heenkijk herken ik als eerste cijfer een 5.
Een dergelijk bracket (met extra bouten/moeren) ben ik ook tegengekomen op mijn Eroba van 1954.
